This summer we are rowing around Britain, exploring the people and places of our island’s coastline.
as well as some of the most spectacular scenes and shorelines. The huge swells and monotony of an open ocean crossing are replaced with the chop, whirlpools, and rocks offered by the coast. Alongside traversing the busiest shipping lane in the world, these aspects make rowing around Britain a unique navigational challenge that tests even the most experienced of seafarers.
This perspective gives us the opportunity to celebrate the people and places that make our coast unique, highlighting the strengths and challenges that our shores are facing and, crucially, how people can support them. From the headlands and the lighthouses, to the wildlife and the people, we will document the expedition and speak to those who make the shoreline special.
